Default First bass of 2006

I caught my first bass of the year today. I caught 3 largemouth all within a hours time on a Rapala DT-6 crankbait , Parrot color. They weren't big , biggest was 14" long, but it was good to be able to boat a bass again, even though bass season doesn't open for another 2 1/2 months. I fished for 3 hours out on the main lake with nothing doing. The water temperature was 41 degrees.I ran up in a feeder creek and the water was stained from the run off ,the temp was 47 degrees in the creek, quite a change from the main lake.I fished jigs and tubes with no results, then tied the crank on and caught the 3.I would have never guessed a crankbait would catch fish in 47 degree water temperature when a jig or a tube bait wouldn't. I have got a lot more learning to do. P N J
