Need help now more then ever!

I asked my dad last night if we could go out on the boat this weekend and what he said almost gave me a heart attack.I think most all of you know by now I have never caught a bass going on the boat alway's just in pond's, so my parent's are getting sick of going on the bost since we necer catch anything on it, so here is what we said " I will take you this weekend but if we don't catch anything we are not going freshwater fishing on the boat for atleast 6 month's"

so we are going this weekend.So I need some REALLY good tip's on some of the best way's to catch them bass PLEASE.
