Default rock bass

i just started fishing a place where there is tons of good sized rock bass. i was trying to catch some smallmouth and largemouth on 4 and 5 inch senkos, but i caught a few rockbass, in the evening, and some smallmouth and largemouth at night on topwater. so now i want to fish for rockbass, during sunlight hours, and as soon as the sun goes down, catch the nice ones, but what is good for rockbass? i had tons of bites from them, but they wouldn't get hooked, because the senkos was so big.
