Default Offshore 10/13 - 10/14

Well we finally got out for some Swordfishing!

We cleared the mouth of Port Canaveral at 1800 and was to our spot 70 miles away by 2000.

B-E-A-utiful sunset on the way out

We had lines in and then at 2330 we get hit and haul this aboard at 0000. But his wasn't before me and my Dad almost got billed by him in our heads.

70lb. sword

Look at those big black beady eyes for seeing at night.

We then gutted him and got a nice bloody mess on the boat.

We were told to use cold beach towels to keep him cold but it wasn't working so we fit him in our fishbox with his bill sticking out (keep in mind this fish is 84" overall length )

We picked up lines and headed in at 0530. But to be met with this cold front blowing a stiff N wind against the N flowing gulf stream stacking the waves up into 4-6ft. chop. Took us 4 1/2hours to get home!
