winter or prespawn

Gentlemen,
Question: what is your favorite late winter / early prespawn structure? Do you go to the deeper structure adjacent to known spawning areas NOW or do you lean more towards the classic winter structure? More specifically, at what point do you guys make the move from the standard winter structure to the prespawn structure? Do you always wait until you have a water temp increase or do you base it more on the calendar. At this time of year I am always waffling whether it is too early to hit the areas that are just off spawning areas or to just stay on the winter pattern. Thanks.
