I use swim bait's on the river in the winter. Behind wing dam's & eddies out of the current. You loose alot of baits on the river. That's just how it is on the river. I spend most of my time using sasy shad on a 1oz jig. There cheap. I buy them buy the pound. They seam to work really good. I catch wally's, white bass & large mouth. I am kind of Scared to throw a 10.00 lure because i would go trough alot of them. Jig & Pig works really good but can be hard. On the river the missouri's river bottom is always changing. Like tree's comming down current & things like that. I do have to say. Worm fishing even though i loose a lot of bait's is very effective. What are your suggestions for using Cheap baits for cathching fish on a river that is alway's changing it's conditions. I see alot of nice LURES but i admit i'm not rich enough to loose 2 to 3 seven dollar baits every time i go out. So am limited to the jigs & Soft plastic's. In spring i use cheap buzzbaits & spinnerbaits. But conditions now are it's 36 degrees with a alway's muddy botom. Well it's always muddy looking
