Default Making Venison Brawts

I'm making my own deer brawts using the Hi Mountain kit. It says to cook the brawts in the oven or on a smoker, referring that the brawts will be precooked. Or can I just freeze uncooked brawts and cook them once when I'm ready to eat them? I'm affraid if I precook them, freeze them and them cook them again they will be really dry. Am I understanding this correctly?? Any tips or suggestions on making deer brawts would help! Thanks guys!
