Since my little musky adventure yesterday, I found lots of new ledges and creek channels using the Carolina Rig in coordination with my depth finder, and really want to hit these areas with a Drop-Shot. Problem is, I don't know for sure if they are directly under the boat, even if they are registering on the depth finder.
How should I use my depth finder to get close to the ledge as possible? Is there any special setting I should use to make my depth finder as 'real-time' as possible? How fast should I be moving the boat when searching for the ledges? When I do find the ledge on my depth finder, should I drop down a marker buoy immediately? Where on the ledge, (bank, direct center, sides, etc.), should I drop the marker buoy? Thanks in advance, -Buzz ![]() |
