Default Mattern Guide Service Lake Palestine and Big Sam

Mattern Guide Service on Lake Palestine & Sam Rayburn & Lake Fairfield

Hello Everybody,

JOHN 15: Verse 7; If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you; ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

SAM RAYBURN; Well Bass fishing has been great with Bass up to 7 1/2 lbs. The Spawn is for the most part over, with Bass pretty beat up and in the healing stage. But alot of the Post spawn females have the feed bag on.

30 bass a day has been comming to the boat with some quality Bass. You know me I love the wacky worm style fishing I can take my time and pick an area apart. The wacky is catching right now with good colors being Watermelons and Green Pumpkins. Jigs in Black & Blue with Green pumpkin trailers have been catching some Bigger Bass up to about 6 lbs.

Some of the Bigger Bass have been caught on Carolina rigs fished out on your deeper flats and main Lake Points. Good baits have been grubs, french fries, lizards, and flukes. Same colors have been working well. Carolina rigs have been working in 8-12 feet.

LAKE PALESTINE: Is still in the spawn and post spawn mode with Bass over 6 lbs. comming to the boat this week as a matter of fact we had 2 in the same hour. Bass were hitting twins tail grubs rigged Texas style also alot of Bass were being caught on your darker colors of wacky style rig such as June bugs and Black and Blue Nichols Salty Mother Sinkers, a senko type bait. Cooler temps in earlyt hours have knocked the topwater bite down somewhat but with rising temps we should see some great topwater action in the next weeks.

Give me a call at 903-478-2633 or 8903-724-1203 and I will put you on some Bass action. You can go to my web-page which is matternguideservice.fghp.com for all the lake levels and guide info. such as rates and what you need to bring on the Guide Trip. Thanks to my sponsors which I use their products everyday I am on the water.
God Bless. Don Mattern Sr.
