Default Fish Attractors, an idea....

You can make some great fish attractors using 5 gallon bucket lids. Drill a hole in the center and run a rope through the hole and finish by tying a figure 8 knot in the end of the rope. Use liquid nails to attach three equally spaced pieces of fun noodle foam at the outer edge under the lid...maybe 3 inches in length, glued on horazontally....using the side of the foam as a gluing surface so air will not become trapped in the open hole of the foam...liquid nails will work well. Now, tie on a weight heavy enough to sink the lid and serve as an anchor. These will provide shelter for bass during the spawn and will serve as fish attractors at other times. Several close together would be perhaps beneficial. 16 inches off bottom would probably provide great shelter, but they can also be staggered at different heights. I haven't tried this yet, just came up with the idea this morning....but am thinking it should work very well. Hard to snag, the lid keeps the cranks away from the rope underneath. If the knot might snag a lure, you could cover it with a glued on plastic cup...just put a couple small holes in the cup so it doesn't trap air when the attractor is first planted. As I have not tried this yet, you may want to experiment. If you find something works better along the way, kindly post on this board and share your experience. Thanks, and Good Fishing, Mac

Using green lids would provide giant lilypads suspended underwater.
