Default Fun with The Bassin Brits!

I got the chance to take Jack and Doreen (visiting from Great Britain), out to the lakes once again Monday. Another mild cold front was passing through, so I anticipated our numbers would be a little down, but since their preferred method of bass fishing is working worms slowly, they stayed on the fish all day. Doreen was putting a beat down on Jack and I to start with, landing 3 fish before either of us could get a bite. But soon Jack got in on the action landing some nice 1.5-2 lb fish. I was stubbornly throwing my fast moving baits, and not even getting a casual glance. They probably boated 20 bass before I gave in and picked up my worm rod. We caught about 40 bass on the first lake by noon, and then switched to another. Bass seemed to be at all depths - little bucks up at the cattail edges, and some a little bigger in 10-12 feet. We never got a big one this trip, although Jack lost one around 3.5-4 lbs. Of course by the time we quit, we were sure that one was at least 10 lbs. Jack ended the day with the largest 2lbs 11 ozs. Doreen was just behind with a 2.5 lb fish. Mine 2 1/4 lbs. It was great fun fishing with them again! Total for the day: 148!
