Trip to BPS. Baitmonkey almost won.

we hit BPS lat night, they had a special prefered rewards members only night with gift card drawings and one for a Garmin fish finder. (unfortunatly, we didn't win anything).

We got there and looked at reels. I looked at the Curado and almost completely had my mind made up that that is the reel I wanted. Then, I have the lady behind the counter hand the the new Quantum Energy... my first thought was, "Holy crap, this thing got lighter!" I'd never really looked at quantums before, but, with praise from the lady behind the counter, I am looking into them.

my dad when to look at something else and I headed to the swimbait isle, determined to buy some. I picked out a TT 4" swimbait in bluegill, two pack sof YUM money minnows in clown and tennessee shad, and a pack of Berkley hollow bellies. Then off to look at some swimbait hooks. Some of these are HUGE!!! I went with the Owner Beast hooks. One pack of 4/0 1/8oz and 1 6/0 1/4 oz. I wish they had a 6/0 in 3/8 oz..

Then to look at cranks. I drooled over some LC cranks and then went to look at some I could afford. I picked out about 5 norman cranks, including two Thin N's. So after adding prices up in my head, I had to made some decisions... I put the TT 4" and the berkley hollow belly swimbaits back. maybe next time.) my dad got off a bit easier. 3 rapala DT in various colors and sizes and a plano line spool box for out fluoro leader material on the boat.

We also found a tackle bag that'll hold the Falcon boxes. It a BPS bag, I forgot which one, but a friend of ours who works there is getting us her 40% off discount and we're getting two for a total of 30 bucks.

overall, a good night, and the baitmonkey didn't go too wild.
