fishing today
i woke up this moring expecting to go swimming at my moms with my little boy. we got up ate breadfast and started getting ready. i keep my fishing stuff in the laundry room, and while looking for some towels my little boy spotted my stuff. his eyes lit up and he jumped up and ran to his room. i was wondering what he was up to and a few minutes later he came running back with his boots and his fishing pole and hat. he said i ready to go catch bass now. i told him we were going swimming not fishing and he lowered his head stuck out his lip so far you could sit on it and said "please." it was all i could do to not to cry with joy. what more could i ask for he would rather fish than anything else and he is only four. so we loaded he truck with fishing poles and tackle instead of swimming trunks and towels and floats. we hit a local pond and i tied on a little keystone minnow on his and went to cast it out for him. he stopped me and said let me i been praticing. i figured watch out someones gonna get hooked. i have seen this before and its not been pretty. man was i wrong. he took his little lightning mcqueen fishing rod and made a cast that would have made anyone happy. i was sooo proud. we ended up catching a few bluegill and 3 little bass in about an hour. he threw out again and hooked up with a small bluegill, as he reeled it in close a bass shot out from under the dock and snatched it. the bass just sat there with a fish hanging out its mouth right by the dock. my boy was screaming and i was still shocked by what just happend. so i reached in and grabbed it by the tail and pulled it out. ended up being just shy of 3 lbs. biggest fish of the day. just though i would share my wonderful time today. i need to get a digital camera so i can get some pic's up, just gotta get the monkey off my back about a new rod and reel first.
