Norman SPEED CLIPS for me. I remove the split rings from all my treble hook baits (except those which have the wire set really deep in the lip, or face on topwaters). Very easy to change baits for color, depth or style - and I change ofter until one starts produscing.
It doesn't eliminate re-tying, as the line still must be checked for fraying during the day, but it cuts down on a lot of knots. I found when I was tying on baits a lot, I tended to hurry tying my knot, which led to knot failures - the speed clips have virtually eliminated that issue for me. I don't tie near as often so I tend to slow that down and do it correctly. |
