My 2009 Bassin' recap...
OK, since I can't fish for bass here in MN for awhile yet, I have to whet my appetite by pulling out pics from last year and dreaming of catching more like this in 2010.
Prior to 2009 my PB for Smallmouth was 3lb 2oz and Largemouth was 4lb 2oz. Here are the fish I caught last year that beat each of those previous PBs. The first one is from a lake in northern IA, the last one is from a lake in southern MN, and all the others are from a lake in central MN where I do 95% of my fishing. 05/16/09 - 4lb 12oz LM - 19.0" - Black clackin' buzzbait - IA lake (from shore) - new PB on the first weekend fishing, a great start to what would turn out to be my best fishing year ever! 05/22/09 - 3lb 3oz SM - 17.0" - Syclops (fishing from our dock, casting for pike the day before bass opener) 07/03/09 - 3lb 11oz SM - 18.5" - Pop-R (fishing from our dock, no one else up at 5:30 a.m. to take a picture...) 07/11/09 - 3lb 12oz SM - 18.0" - Pop-R (fishing from our dock with my 5-year old nephew who is already a die-hard fisherman!) 07/28/09 - 4lb 3oz SM - 18.5" - Super Spook jr. (fishing from our dock) 08/23/09 - 4lb 5oz LM - 19.5" - Spro Poppin' Frog (finally, a nice one from the boat...2-year old nephew getting hooked on fishing!) 09/07/09 - 4lb 7oz LM - 19.5" - 7" Watermelon Yamasenko - New PB for this lake, and on my 45th birthday even (boat)! 09/20/09 - 4lb 7oz LM - 19.25" - 4.75" AquaGlow Junebug Creature Bait on a dropshot (boat) 09/24/09 - 5lb 2oz LM - 19.5" - 5" MotorOil Yamasenko on a dropshot (fishing from shore, again stuck doing a self-photo) - best fish of the year, what a great way to end the season! |
