I decided I needed an expensive spinning reel for some black fin tuna this summer. So I got a Quantim Cabo 40 and matched it to a St Croix 6.6 Med Premier Rod. I added a but cap and three quarters and it feels right.
I hope is has enough line to handle the job designated for it. I am going with Power Pro 20lb green moss line. I figure 175 yards will be needed. I have used the Cabos on reds up to 32 inches and false albicore so I am sure the drag will hold up. Love those gift cards as I would be too cheap to buy such a nice reel. The rod was 40.00 new at a flea market. Capt Mike
