I've been lucky to spend a lot of time chasing different species. They all are fun. In 1994 while in high school, I caught a Walleye that measured 27", and weighed just under 9 lbs. Up here, Walleye rule. While they are good to eat, they are not much on the fighting end. That big one took me all of 1 minute to land, and I actually thought I'd successfully stagged a waterlogged stick. I went to Wyoming in 1996 and landed two Rainbows over 26"...fun, but not outstanding. It was a challenge getting them buggers to eat a lure. In 2001, after I graduated college, I took a trip up north of here. On that two day trip with my buddies, I caught 3 Wipers (Hybrids) all over 10 lbs. (biggest one was 14lb.) They were a lot of fun! Fight super hard, and all were bonus topwater catches. On that trip, I also caught a 41", 20 lb. Northern. He was fun as well. I have that picture somehow still.

In 2003, I went and fished Lake Michigan with friend of mine for King Salmon. Great eating fish for sure, but I didn't really enjoy the big water trolling thing.

To sum it up for me: I don't really have any desire to catch or go on a saltwater outing. Just never really have. I have friends that go annually, and have a blast. They'd like me to go, and maybe I will someday. The two fish I'd like to catch before I die still are a 10+ Largemouth, and a 6+ Smallie. I've been close a couple times to getting both of them, but fell a few ounces shy.
