I have been looking around for a few months now for a good shaky head rod. I have said since they first came out and had a lot of trouble with them breaking that I would never own a Carrot Stix rod. Well yesterday I had to eat my words when I laid my hands on the new Carrot Stix Black Wild rods at Bass Pro. I got the 7' ML rod and it is an amazingly light rod with the perfect power and action for shaky heads. I carried it around forever while checking out other rods just begging for one to feel better than the Carrot Stix so I could keep my promise to never buy one, but alas it was the best feeling rod I found in the store. It's a good looking rod too if you can get past the butt ugly green EVA butt cap. I was going to build my shaky head rod but with the house being built and us leaving for Shreveport in a few weeks I wasn't sure I could have it done in time for our first tournament so I decided to just buy one instead. While I was there I picked up another Luck E Strike RC STX jerkbait in Pro Blue, 2 Spro Mcsticks in Blue Bandit and Spooky Shad, 2 Rogues in chrome with blue back and chrome with black back, and a lot of stuff to make Jika rigs.
