The first wave of family members rolled in yesterday afternoon, and my nephew wanted me to take him to fishing for about 90 minutes before dark. We hit the spot where I've had the most luck the prior 4 days. On the first pass I landed a small pike, a 2.4 LM and a 2.5 SM on a jig & pig, while my nephew had no hits on the swim jig I had him using. I was a bit worried about the path we were headed down at that point, especially when I had another good hit to start the second pass. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the 4th pike in as many outings to snip me off and make off with another of Kory's jigs.
Things took a good turn shortly after that, however, when my nephew landed this 2lb 12oz LM, a new best for him!![]() And a bit later he caught the biggest (and last) fish of the evening, this 3lb 2oz Smallie, the first SM he has ever caught!
