First bass of the year.

Managed to catch one bass during our first outing to one of the small local lakes we fish....At least it was a decent sized fish...lol....He slammed a hollow plastic swimbait I had on a scrounger jighead.

To make things challenging, for some reason when I set the hook the reel popped loose from the rod.....it was the craziest thing I've had happen in awhile, but I managed to hang onto both the reel and the rod and get the fish landed while running the trolling motor in gale force winds....lol....it was quite a sight, but I didn't get skunked and my bass was bigger then one my partner caught so all ended well....hehehe.....Sure enjoyed being on the water.....even while fighting the wind.....Oh, by the way....I didn't even think about sunscreen, and I got cooked, so don't forget to cover up.
