Update on things
Hi guys. Just thought I would give y'all an update on all of our situations. the father-in-law is due here soon for his follow up with his urological oncologist at Vanderbilt tomorrow. His chemo doctor said the CT scan last week showed significant shrinkage of the cancer nodules in his lungs and abdomen. He has scheduled two additional 3 week rounds of chemo. My f-i-l was glad to hear of the shrinkage but was disappointed to have to go through additional chemo so soon. It really makes him feel horrible and he was just beginning to recover from the first rounds. I would ask for prayers that he gets a good report from the urologist tomorrow so that his bladder surgery can be scheduled and he can be free from the catheter. It has caused him a great deal of pain and discomfort.
On the job search front, things are not good. I had an interview last week that I felt great about. I got the call this morning that someone else had been hired that had more expericence than me. Can't blame the employer for doing what was best for his company but I sure am bummed out right now. I keep telling myself that something better is around the corner, but I had to have a good snot-blowing, foot-stomping cry first. On the bright side, the hubby and I have been able to do a bit of fishing. He has had some wonderful catches. On the other hand, I have caught a bunch of fingerlings. I don't even have the nerve to call them dinks. The next couple of weeks will be busy with several things so we won't be able to get any fishing done. By the time we can get back out the spawn should be over. Could be worse though so I am not complaining. Just glad to have been able to get out some. |
