Lake Toho - Kissemmee Florida
We took the kids to Florida for spring break a couple of weeks ago to visit Universal Studios and to mull around. I started asking them a couple of weeks ahead if they wanted to make a half day trip to a lake for some, dah duh dah...shiner fishing hahahaha. 1 2 3 all holler cheater! Anyways, Tanner finally bit and we set up a trip to Lake Toho for an afternoon trip with Capt John Leech through floridabassfishing.com . I gotta say I was glad to find the site, because I scheduled the trip that morning. The day before , it rained most of the day and the air temp dropped about 20F and the water temp came down also. When we got to the lake, the wind was out of the N about 10-20 and blue bird skies to accompany. I wasn't expecting much, but they do offer, no fish, no pay. But we did manage to boat 6 fish and the biggest was 4 10oz. Tanner lost a couple by the boat though and we probably had 20 hits. I did learn that shiner fishing has definitely got an art to it. It's takes a lot of discipline or you come up short handed. About like snatching a frog on the blow before finding the fish.
And one I caught a few days before the trip. All I can say is that The goretex gear pays for it self quick. And I know, my selfies aren't nowhere as good as Woody's.
