It is a Diawa X Interline Rod. The line passes into the rod about 14 inches from the reel and a spiral rib inside the rod keeps the line in check. Line exits the tip from a round cone tip with a ceramic like ring on it.
It is old school but was all the rage in 2002. It requires a rigging wire to pull the line thru the rod and besides that slight drawback was a good rod. ![]() I managed to get one in great condition at a flea market. Capt Mike
