Took the time to read this thread and at the risk of sounding like a kill-joy it looks like some cliches' are cliches' for good reason: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions". I guess we all get busy and caught up in the pure excitement of just plain fishin and stuff like this just slides. From what I see from the thread Jrob kindly shared, all but 3 people are in this discussion also.
So maybe you folks are the best source for what and why something will or won't work.

how about this, go to www.outdooralabama.com. click in the search bar in upper right. type in master angler. when results come up click on the one that says master angler and trophy angler. it is a set of guidelines in weight and measurements for a trophy fish in alabama. something like that could be used. may have to tweak it a bit but its a starting place.

Do you mean in place of state record percentage?
I'm confused as normal

i just thought since they do it by weight or length u could come up with something based on that and it could work for people in all our regions.
