Speed Snap direct to EWG Hook?

So I've been using speed clips (Norman) for a little bit. Really like how quickly I can change lures, presentations. Better than spending a day tying knots.

So here's my question, anyone ever clip a worm hook (EWG) direct to the snap? I was thinking of changing out to a weightless fluke the other day but was concerned about the connection (speed snap direct to hook). I ended up cutting off the clip & tying on the hook.

After I thought more about it, I thought the clip might actually help the action of the fluke on the 'twitch' as well as add just a little weight to the nose to potentially help it freefall more naturally? Thoughts? Experience?

Your challenge will be in getting around a wide gap hook eye with the clip.
The clips were originally for switching little ice-jigs in the winter.
Back in the day folks didn't have these little portable condos on the ice. So switching the tiny pan-fish jigs was a real challenge, re-tieing a lot.
Hence the clip eye is small. Also one circle on the clip attachment is actually more of a 'D' than a 'C', so the spacing gap on that is even tighter.

It's not bad for switching cranks, poppers even but not jigs.

They do have a large version but it's like 3 times larger.
I think it's a Pike, Musky clip or called that anyway.
Now this will take hollow body frogs so wide gap or jig should work.

The walk on a popper is easier with clip on.
The action of most baits should get 'looser' or free'r with a clip.
Think of it as adding a split ring to the front of whatever application/lure your using.
