Don't use fingernail polish remover. Even the ones that say 100% acetone are still different than paint grade acetone. Walmart sells gallon cans of acetone for 16 bucks. I used to use acetone but Quantum reels switched to a poly caged bearing and acetone ruined them. Shimano also uses some poly caged bearings in spinning reels. I found that colemen camp stove fuel or any generic stove fuel is very similar to lighter fluid and I now buy a generic stove fuel at acedemy sports for $7 bucks a gallon. I clean hundreds of bearings in it and it works just as well as anything and is safe on all bearings.
