Do-it-up and finish the damn things! When the people vote in the Primarys, they have their mind made up. I mean, there has already been three months of talk even before the Primarys start, so they know what they want. When the Primarys are finished and the Electoral College has it all set-up, ELECT! Enough said.... -Lunk- ![]()

Hey, I won't voice my political stance, being Canadian and all I don't think I have anything relevant to say. But, I would like to say, it's darn refreshing to see how you guys chat in here. I've been checking out other fishing sites and have been coming across a lot of jerks. I'm all for a good discussion about politics, but too many people fly off the handle when someone has a different perspective. It's nice to see you guys don't bash each other over stuff like this.

Exactly my point Carpman, Paul and one of his counterparts, District 25 State Represintative have had their hands in DOW/Philips pockets for years and years. They are subject even more so than typical Republicans, interested in just what special intrest groups have to say. They dont care about you and your family as much as they care about the profit margin big oil makes because they recieve kick backs. What do you think fuels our local economy? We have the two largest refineries right off the coast, where does the polution come from, and why are we really fighting this war- because its good f'ing business for Bush and the GOP. Havent you seen farenheight 911, Bush is in bed with the Saudis and Arabs just as much as Halliburton (cheyneys company?). Who is really benefiting from the war? I hate to sound un-patriotic, I have lost friends overthere and have friends over there now, when will we just continue to let a civilization that has been at war for 1000's of years just kill themselves off? Why did we not have these problems with democrats mainly Clinton, because we bought their oil and fed them. All they want to do is eat just like us, so why is there anything wrong with that MO? Let them destroy their natural resources and keep our country (or is it our country anymore?)

I am going to have to disagree partly with your stance Adam. First off, I have read and heard it mentioned on the radio many times that Farenheight 911 contains 61 mistruths. I really can't put any faith in that movie. Micheal Moore continually tries to paint the United States as the devil. He has his own agenda which is anti American. And he will make any statement he wants, to swing people over to his way of thinking. I would put Micheal Moore in the same hole that Obama's minister, Reverand J Wright crawled out of. Filled with hate for anything our country stands for and does. I should remind you that there are plenty of democrats who have finacial investments in oil companies as well as republicans. You make a statement saying we didn't have these problems when Clinton and the democrats were in charge. Once again, check out the facts. There were many attacks against US interrests durring Clintons administration. Attacks perpetrated by the same forces we are fighting today. In fact, terrorists have been striking US interrests for over 20 years. They have attacked our naval ships, blown up our civilian airliners, and they bombed the Trade Center durring the Clinton years before 911 occured. The planning of the 911 strike was in the works durring Clintons presidency. The terrorists struck shortly after Bush took office. It is President Bush who finally had the balls to say enough is enough. Instead of letting the enemy strike at will wherever they chose to strike, we went after them. Let me ask you a question. If you are the leader of a country who has defeated the enemy, and the enemy refuses to follow the terms of surrender, what would you do? Because that is what Iraq did. Iraq was defeated after invading Kuwait. Iraq surrendered and the United Nations placed numerous terms in place for Iraq to submit to. But Iraq defied them all. They used weapons of mass destruction, "gas" to exterminate Kurdish villages. They refused to allow UN inpectors to enter their country for most of 11 years to search for WMD's, and the couple times they did let them in, the inspectors were only allowed to go where Saddam would allow them to go and then ushered out before they were able to complete their inspections. People will say Bush lied about the WMD's. However, the belief that the WMD's existed was confirmed by many of our allies. France, Germany, Britain, Spain, Russia, and so on. The threat of Saddam using gas against our troups in Saudi Arabia, Kuwaitt and Turkey as he did against the Kurds was very real. Some will point out that after we won the second war, we couldn't find the WMD's and they didn't exist, that Bush lied to support his invation. Well I would ask, what do you think was going on durring those 11 years that Saddam was refusing to let inspectors into Iraq? I believe they ended up in hidden underground bunkers, and neighboring countries sympathetic to the cause of Islamic extremism. Eleven years is more than enough time to hide the weapons. Why else would Saddam refuse to allow inspectors in unless he was buisy getting rid of the evidence.
The radicals of Islam don't just want to eat and be left alone. They want anyone who is not a follower of Islam to die. They want world wide domination and institution of Islam. They want the United States, Isreal, and any other non Islamic nations to submit to their way of life. They have NO intention of coexisting peacably. And from what I have seen, the Muslims who claim to not support the radicals are silent on the issue. They don't come out to reassure us that they don't support the acts of the terrorists. More than once I have watched a Muslim who was being interviewed about the terrrorists and their attacks. How often I have heard the same old montra from them. They said "I don't agree with their tactics, but I understand why they are doing what they do." In my mind, that allies them with the terrorists. The battle we are in now will be back in our own back yard if we fail to follow through in Iraq. It will show us to be weak and uncommited to our cause for freedom. It will be an invitation to attack our home land. And the democrats will be guilty of sending out the invitation. Last edited by keithdog; 03-21-08 at 07:39 PM. |
