A lot of people go with the biggest, baddest boat they can think of - I think they are better off going with what fits your fishing style.

What I like about Bullet boats: Yea they are fast, thats nice. They are also light. I've heard that their hulls are the strongest on the market as well.

The way I look at it, if you can get a smaller Bullet boat like what Zook posted, you can get by with a smaller motor and still go as fast as you can use (I would never break 70 mph on a fishing trip, theres no reason to invite bad things to happen) - but I'm betting with the light weight and the hull design you could tune them to get decent gas mileage for a glass boat, and you could get real shallow which is what I always do.

I don't care too much about its performance in rough water. I fish right now from a 14' aluminum mod V - no matter how light the Bullet is, it will make me feel downright comfortable compared to the tin boat.

What I'm saying is, guys, you really need to pool your money and buy me that boat.

I'd love to have a big boat, but never given much consideration to which one. I like the Tritons, and the Nitros. Although those Gambler boats seem pretty freakin awesome!
But where I live and fish now, I don't need a big boat (or gas guzzling motor for that matter).

i used to live "on" the lake and for 3 years i watched tourny guys fishing every day on flat swamp. they would fish the out side vertical post on the docks with there big boats. every now and again you would see a lil old guy out there in a small 17 foot ranger fishing the "inside" vertical post. he always seemed to out fish the others..the trick is he would move in between the docks. something very hard to do with a bigger boat..
his name was harvey harris i fished with him on several occasions..i learned more in them trips with him then i would have in 10 years of playin on the lake.. harv died several years ago. i still fish with his sons ray and rick now and again..his knowlage is what caused me to buy the short stratos. when i could have bought a larger boat..

Reason id go with a 21ft to 22ft boat is I like to fish deep water, which usually means open water, and the stability would be second to none in chop/rough conditions. Dont get me wrong Ill pitch the shorelines alot too, but if im on a lake known for offshore structure Ill hit it hard so a 20 ft plus is the best for me.

With a gold-plated trailer hitch, o'course. That's a Bentley Turbo R, BTW, a 5.000 lb car that can hit 60MPH in about 6 seconds and tops out at around 150. Gas mileage? Don't even ask!

I dont see why yall want such a big front deck, besides room for storage underneath it. I always stand in pretty much the same place. Maybe a wireless Tm would change that a little, but I bet not much.

Some of the people I know with Gamblers normally fish both guys on the front deck so you both can cast at "the spot". I don't know that I would want the 22' one, but a 20 or 21 would be nice. I know that I am always walking around and watching my step so I don't smash rods on mine. Also I think that a bigger boat, to some extent, will ride better in the rough stuff on big water.

My buddy's got a 15 foot key west with a yamaha 75 on it, and that is a dang good boat....It'll fish any freshwater, and most inshore conditions. Thats probably what I'd get, or a nice carolina skiff/boston whaler. Where I live, you're better off being able to fish the intercoastal too....

A Ranger or Trition bass boat. 19 feet or so, 200 hp, a large wide deck. I want the best electronics that is what is important to me. Sonar for the front and rear with a built in flasher on the dash, and a conversion kit for my Vexilar fl18. Lots of storage, gas tank doesn't need to be very big, optima batteries all around. Single consal cut back on weight and cost, may be a power poll.
