I'm in.
I've been so busy lately, I'm not sure how much I can help with the preparation, but I will do what I can. BTW, not to fiddle with a good idea, cause G'villealone is a pefect lake for this...but if we wanted to, we could have a moving get together, ie, first two nights on G'ville, pick up and move to wilson for the last day...which would give a little variety for all those visiting north alabama. They are only 70 miles apart. |

That's a great point, WTL. I for one, wouldn't mind tying into a nice Alabama Smallie somewhere nearby either.

I think you just want some smallies after the disappointing trip to Dale Hollow, lol.

Ill try to come up anywhere I'm always good for fishing, and Guntersville isn't extremely far from me about 10 hours.

I'd definitely be up for another get together at Goose Pond, as long as it's after I'm out of school. I'll have to talk my dad into taking my grandma to see her sisters in Cullman again! BB

sounds good anthony. may is a good month i think. lisa and i talked about it last night some. and we think it would be better to have it at WHEELER/WILSON. this way we can fish for BOTH largemouth AND small mouths. smallies in wilson...go over the dam and fish for largemouths. and we can get a lodge and split the cost and save ourselves some serious dough. it would only be about $100.00 each for 4 nights. that's a DEAL i think. kitchen and everyone will be all together. whadda think gang?

I looked at a calender and I am home past the 20th of May until June 16th. But you know things are always subject to change. I would love to make this one though.

John, that sounds fantastic.
And Guntersville is still only a short drive away if someone really wants to fish it. I suspect I would go there at least one day out of the week.

If I can't talk my dad into the trip, I'm coming by myself, lol.
Also, it may be too early got get a list of boaters and non-boaters together (ok, so it definitely is too early), but I'll be needing a boat since pulling our boat to KY and back cost a lot, lol. And our boat isn't exactly the best for running from lake to lake... BB

Anthony,
If you can't talk your Dad into coming, you could always drive as far as my place, and ride with me the rest of the way. I'm not sure if my buddy Mark will want to go, given our smashing success at Dale this year. If he doesn't come, you can fish out my boat too. Either way, hit chat tonight if you want to discuss.

florida fisher we may have to talk. Are you gonna tote a boat up? If not we may have to get together and carpool up w/ my boat. Just a thought to ponder over for the next few months.

My little brother lives in Kingman though, so if that were ever to happen, I would gladly take part, just to spend a week fishing with him.

vegass............there ain't no reason you can't have your own out there pal. i am serious, there are a lot of folks here that live near you. this is NOT jsut a thing for this area of the country. there have been get togethers up north, back east and i hope to see one out west. so start organizing one for your area man. this is what this site is about.
if i won the lottery, i would attend each and every event held. maybe even show up un known and un invited, hahaha. just call you up and say...."I'M HERE!! LET'S FISH!" and yes i check my ticket every week. hahahaha!!!

If it is at all possible for me, I will be there, with boat in tow. I'll have room for one or two more people, depending on if the wife decides to come with me or not.

I figure she'll probably come, just not sure if she'll fish or not. More than likely not, since we'll have Caitlyn, but you never know...she might be fishing by then, too.

ok.......i tell you folks what YA'LL decide shich lake you want to fish. either guntersville, or wheeler/wilson. makes NO difference to me for real. EITHER lake(s) is fine by us. for real. now everyone knows that guntersville is well known for the largemouths, but wilson/wheeler has BOTH large and SMALL mouths. large in wheeler, smalls in wilson. we got PLENTY OF TIME TO DECIDE THIS. NO SENSE IN GETTING ALL WORKED UP OVER IT JUST YET. lets take our time and really make a good choice. i want EVERYONE happy with the place we choose. my main goal is to have a great time and meet new friends and revisit old ones. fishing IS main part of it, but visiting friends is what i like the most.
