Yup, I agree moose. And if you want to keep the warranty's on your rods, then using 36lb line on a rod rated for 35 would not be a good idea. Iuse 30lb braid on my Fish Eagle II rod that's like rated for 12, but I don't really care about that rod too much, and it didn't have a warranty to begin with. If you wanna use higher pound test line than your rod is rated for, get an Ugly Stik.

last spring my dad and i were crappie fishing on grand lake, he caught an 18# blue cat on a falcon crappie rod and 4# test p-line. that fight lasted quite a while.
