Watchmen. I really kind of scoffed at this movie when it came out, mostly because I knew 90% of the people who were dying to see it, had never even heard of the comic. They just wanted to go see "the movie with the blue guy in it."

But I was completely, 100% wrong. Though it is not a feel good, happy ending movie, it is magnificent. It really makes you suspend your disbelief in superheroes, at least for a couple of hours.

And Jackie Earle Haley's performance....he should have been nominated for an Oscar. Everyone else was pretty good, and compelling, but Haley was simply amazing.

Yea, I just watched that on HBO over the weekend to see what all the hype was about - I didn't think it was very good - grade B sci fi at best - go figure.

I didn't catch all the hype either NFE. Is the 04 World Series of Poker considered a movie? Definitely a bunch of drama and comedy.

Watched Saving Private Ryan last night. Also picked up something different in the cheap bin-Final Fantasy. Didn't think I would like it at first but turned out to be ok.

Saving Private Ryan was a great movie! FF was pretty good. Never followed the video game series but I was very impressed with the animation.
They've come a long ways since Roger Rabbit. Maybe they've come too far......

In the past few weeks....

The Seventh Seal - about a knight returning home to sweden from the crusades who is surprised when Death incarnate visits him, he then challenges Death to a game of chess while probing him with questions concerning God. Awesome movie.

Battle of the Algiers - French movie about a battle, or perhaps more accuratly a police action in the Casbah of Algiers, late 1950s, as the natives seek to wrestle off france's colonial dominion over them...

It Might Get Loud - documentary featuring Jimmy Paige, Jack White and The Edge discussing the guitar and their sound.

And tonight, if I get the time to procrastinate I will try and watch Out of Africa, which is probably about africa and going out of it and stuff.

Here I am freezing my butt off on Feb 2nd, ground hog day, AT THE DRIVE IN

we have been waiting for 3 hours for this movie to start, any one ever hear of it out side the sign says the movies name is

CLOSED FOR THE WINTER,

I hope its funny!

Must be a double feature though, cuz the next line says "See you in the spring"
