Default Reel Help

OK, guys, this is driving me nuts. I can fix any spinning or baitcast reel, but I'm having trouble with a dang SPINCAST reel!

I have 2 Zebco 33 Platinums I keep for the person that doesn't fish much. One got some line wrapped around above the spool under the cap that has the line pickup. Got that cleaned out, but in doing so one of the springs on the line pickup-the little post that pops out when you reel-came off. Here is where I need help:

I cannot get the cap/spool off the reel to replace the spring. Apparently there is a clip just above the spool that holds it on but durned if I can find it. You would think there would be a screw at the top of the reel to remove it, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO.......Just a plastic cover.

Any ideas?
