				 | Lowrance X135 moisture on screen

Guys, I have an 18 month Lowrance X135 flush mounted on the front deck of my Stratos. It looks like there is moisture under the screen. Its a bit difficult to read and I wonder if what I think is moisture is going to cause a long term problem. Unit is out of warranty and I was wondering what the best course of action/fix is. Thanks very much, Amarillo |

Welcome to the boards bud. I run the lowrance units myself and sometimes I get mositure in the screen. It got bad in one unit bad enough it did cause a problem. I talked to a rep and he said use a heat lamp. Not real close to the unit but just close enough that the mositure will eventually dry out. May take 24hrs.

On my X125 it has the same problem. I was going to send it back, but I will try the heat lamp first, thanks for the tip.

Its a common problem. I was putting them in front of fans, but heat lamps work a little better. On a real old hummingbird I actually cut a hole in the plastic screen and aired it out, then siliconed the hole after it dried.

my X135 does this when there is a thick fog, but it drys out as the day goes on. thought about taking it back for a new one but now it sounds like this is better than most.

Hey Everybody, The unit conked out while I was out fishing. I pulled it out to see if something was disconnected and the darn thing was full of water! I sent it to Lowrance, and even out of warranty, they sent me a NEW replacement unit for a reasonable charge. Lowrance is a class act. Amarillo |
