FOM Eastern Regional
I'll be fishing the Eastern Regional starting tomorrow and Saturday. If we can finish top 8 we will make the National Tournament. I think we have a shot at it. My brother practiced this morning and found fish in a few spots and shook em off. Hopefully they will have some size to them tomorrow. I think we have a good game plan even though it's a bad tide for the river. I'll let you guys know how we make out. This is my last tournament of the year and then I'll be deer hunting till January! Wish us luck!

Oh yeah...no pics, it didn't happen.
(motto from another board, but it fits better here than it does with BBQ)

First day was a grind but my brother and I had a good day. There 154 teams in the tournament and we are currently in 11th place with 10.24 lbs. The day 1 leader has 14.83. We are going to start a little different tomorrow then hit our better stuff later in the afternoon when the tide gets right. We are making a 50 mile run to our starting spot tommorow. It's a little further up then we went today. I hope it pans out. I think we will have a better shot at a big fish there. We'll see. I'll let you know how we end up tomorrow.

Thanks for wishing us well guys. We slipped up today though. It was tough. Strong NE wind made it almost miserable. We caught 6 fish today but only 4 measured. We had 5.42 lbs which gave us 15.65 total which ended up good enough for 23rd (payed the top 30). Bad thing is... my brother lost a fish at the end of the day on a crankbait that would have easily went 3lbs and I think it was closer to 4 lbs. If we land that fish we would have made the top 10 and a trip to the Red River for the National Championship. It broke my heart to see that crankbait come loose about 5' from the net. That will be a bad dream that will haunt us for a while! Wasn't meant to be I guess. I helped out a good friend of mine on what we had been catching fish on and even gave him an extra pack of the brushhogs we were using today and he ended up finishing 10th with 18.27 and will be going to the Nationals. I was happy they made it.
Well I guess I can start my deer season now and think about what I'm going to do next year!
