| BassFishin.Com Premier Elite | XCalibur Fat Free Shad?

Saw this on Bill Dance today. I though he meant bomber, but he showed a package and it was an Xcalibur bait. Any thoughts? BB

The Fat Free was introduced under the Excalibur brand, but it was re-branded to Bomber some years ago. There may still be some of the originals around and they might still make some promotional ones under the original name. However, the baits are identical regardless of the brand name stamped on them.

Hello BB144, just wanted to make an observation on the Dance Fat frees. I own alot of them and the Bill Dance line have a holographic sheen on the sides. The crawdad color even has the holo. He also had these special finishes made for the Xcalibur Spit n Image,Pop n Image and so on for BassPro Shops. They're beautiful and catch fish. See Ya Soon Hookset |

I love fat free shad, in summer, I pretty much exclusively fish with the citrus fat free BD7F or hot mustard or parrot dt 16's.

I just went down to my local Dicks and bought 45 bucks worth of the 2 for 4$. I got blue gill, bass, craw, shad, chartreuse, etc. in shallow fry, fat free fingerling, fat free guppy, and fat free shad sizes and lips. Pretty much every combination they had. I am now stocked up on cranks for a while hehe.

Sorry to inform you, but accord to the bait monkey, you're only stocked up ONE crank for a while. There's many many more to choose from. But hey, why not forget choosing and buy them all! BB

I've got a couple of the original fat free shads and haven't caught squat on any of them. Used them a little last year and nadda. Picked up some DD's and Series 4 and 5 and haven't caught much or anything with them either. But I throw the RC's, Bandits, and 1- baits and whack them. One day I'll figure the deep divers out.

rods make a big difference for me when deep cranking. depth seem to muffle the feel after about 12'. i tend to use fiberglass blanks for deep cranking...
