				 | I guess I don't know fishing after all

Me and a buddy made it out for a little twilight fishing this evening. We had about an hour and half until the wives expected us home so I grabbed my gear and met him up at the lake. My buddy is a beast in the ocean, but never had fished freshwater until the end of last summer. His only technique is to cast as far as he can and reel like hell. This style applies to any bait he tosses, although he does not catch much, he is sure his fish will come from the middle of the lake. Well we ended up on the shore right next to some nice laydowns and tullies. I proceeded to tie on a black fat IKA on one reel and a T-rigged brush hawg on the other. He ended up tying on a redish senko with a 1 oz bullet weight (unpegged). I was flipping into the junk as he was trying to make the senko waterski. After a few minutes I hear him yelling. I look over to see his rod bent and him continuing to reel for his life. His personal best shown below weighed in at 3lbs and 2 oz. Nice stocky little football. Me, I got skunked.

Along those lines, has anyone paid attenton to the bassmasters on tv, watch how fast KVD fishes everything. I swear, him fishing crankbaits, lipless baits you would think he was hung up the way he reels/ jerks on them so fast.

I have noticed that he cranks like hell with big dramatic slashes of the rod tip , I guess that is just years of practice of work . Jim
