Default Monkey Attack!!

I'm heading to VA Beach in the morning to attend a conference and I have to drive past two, yes two, BPS's and Green Top (a sweet tackle shop run by fishermen just north of Richmond). I don't know if I'm going to make it. I've got a tournament on Sunday and of course my tournament partner needs some plastics. You know who is starting to scream and it isn't even morning yet......

Ya, every time my dad goes on a business trip he brings back a bag from either gander or BPS, 70% of the stuff he gets is 10-12" worms, the rest is mostly spinnerbaits!

Good luck on the tournament Sunday!

Ohhh my...

Just the Idea that there will be TWO BPS's near you is scary...

Suggestion: Throw away ALL credit cards, and only carry 20 bucks! haha

It's our instict to go to a tackle shop, there is nooo fighting it.

Just be careful on how much you SPEND!

oh, and good luck on that tourny too!

Worst part about it is that I'm heading to the beach which means seafood diners and then meeting up with some old college friends which leads to a little partying too. Got to budget, got to budget, got to budget........ aw hell you only live once .

I'll be back Sunday or Monday with results. Hopefully I've got pictures and a check!

I rarely make it all the way down there without stopping. Green top is such a great store, wish it was a little closer to 95 though. I like the Richmond BPS better than the Hampton one, so I usually stop there on my way to VB. Good luck, don't go broke.

I'm so far away from BPS that when I do get there, the monkey brings his family. Be near the one in Flint next weekend

Ok, I made it in and out of two of the three with some success. The temptation was awful and I saw a lot of nice stuff but I had seafood on my mind so the monkey backed off a little. Picked up some Strike King plastics and prop type topwater bait by Luhr-Jensen. Couldn't find the R.I. sweet beavers in the color that was requested so I headed to Phat Boyz for some BBQ and headed down the road. Got to the beach after sitting in a 4.5 mile back up at the tunnel. Why do people slow down at a tunnel? Did the conference, ate some seafood, picked up some t-shirts from 17th Street, and back I came.

Didn't fish the tournament today. Got up, saw the rain, and wind and looked at the forecast and made an executive decision to fish the next tournament instead. No reason spending good money to be miserable all day. Got a club tournament this week and we'll be ready for the next one!

Plain ol' Green Pumpkin but he'll buy a bunch since he needs to restock his supply.

I'm surprised that Greentop didn't have it, they have everything else. Nice store.

I've fished in nasty conditions enough times over the years that I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to pick and choose which $ tournaments I fish. If it's cold and windy and nasty out sometimes I'm just going to pass on that day. Just needed a little more confidence in the locations and patterns. No reason to just give the other guys our money.

By the way a buddy of mine whacked them in Mattawomen on Sat. He sat in one spot and crushed fish. All between three and six pounds, one every five minutes or so, over a period of 4 hours. He's never has had a day like he did on Sat.

Green Top was out of GP/Red but didn't even have a rack for GP.

3d, where was he? I was there all day. Two different boats I talked with caught 40-50 fish each. One boat on worms. The other on rattle traps. All but about 3 total fish were too short.

All I got was pad edge and incoming tide. Rest is being kept very close to the vest since he's got money tournaments coming up. I don't know the baits he/they used. I'm probably giving away too much as it is!

Do you remember what the color of boats were? His is real distinctive....ooops I'm in trouble now!
