I had a poorman's tournament today at 720. It was going good... the first hour or so, I caught like 7 bass, biggest being 17.5 in, 4.2lbs.
I thought I had won b/c everyone around me was telling me that no one has caught a descent fish... However, the tourny had to end early due to a thunderstorm moving towards us. When I went to the weigh in, there were about two guys who had MONSTER bass, one being 22in 7.6lbs, and another being 19 5.3lbs Oh well, these guys have fished their WHOLE life, and I've been fishing for about 5 or so... Bad news is that I broke my All Star Platinum rod!!! I was ticked off!! stevomac

Good for you, Steve!
Those same T-storms kept me off the water entirely.

That weight was definitely respectable! What place did you finish overall? Most tourneys around here would be won with that weight (NW Georgia). Now right across the border in Alabama is different story with the likes of Guntersville!

Unfortunately I didn't place at all... out of about 20 ppl who fished the toruny, only about 5 caught keepers... so.. I didn't place.. but that is this years PB! If there were a Junior division part of the tourny... I would've won.. I was the youngest fisherman out there... most were ranging from 35-55yrs old, so Im proud of myself that I caught SOMETHING rather than NOTHING!

Hey! A 5 fish limit in a tournament is excellent. You'd be surprised at how many pro's that don't weigh 5. Keep up the good work!
