Gonna try something a lil different

Im down at college and am still in search of bass ponds and lakes... I stumbled across one the other day but it hasn't been producing many fish at all. So I figured I would try a few different approaches than the typical worm and spinner baits.

The other day a fish ripped the tail off one of my 10" powerworms and I looked at it noticed how well it would work as a big grub. And today I decided to rig something up with it.

Here it is... Balck/blue chatterbait rigged with a black/blue fleck powerworm. Im anxious to see how this will work. What do you guys think?

I think it will work for you. With that much bulk I would move it in quick bursts and let it sit for a couple of seconds at a time. Kinda like a swimming jig.

I think it would be somewhat versatile.... i could jig it slow like a normal worm if i want.... or I could reel it in at a speed to create the chatter effect... or I could do both in the same cast depending on the spot im fishing.

I'm sure it will work well. I know that in my area the black/blue colors work best most days. I know several guys prefer the watermellon and other green or brown colors, but after several years of using them I know I'll catch 10 bass on black/blue to every bass caught on watermellon. And tell ya what, if you don't catch anything on it now, hang onto it for early spring. The chatterbait has become my go to lure right after ice out! I do better with those lures then than durring the summer.

throw a fluke on the back of that chatterbait or a soft plastic swimbait gives it a heck of a action
