Purchased it from Aquasuperstore.com. They shipped it to me fast and exactly what I ordered lol
![]() So, the Daiwa Exceler.....this is my first Daiwa and probably wont be the last. I've been told they have a mechanical feel to them, not so much a buttery smoothness. So true! It is quit a bit louder than any other BC I've used, but not crazy loud. I ordered a 6.3:1 because that was the only lefty the had, but when I opened the box it was a 7.1:1. Which is exacly what I wanted. SCORE! The swept handle rocks! Overall, I'm super happy with my choice and would replace it if were lost or stolen. Awesome reel for $58! Now for the Abu Vengeance rod, I got the 7' MH. It feels great, pulled in a couple Bass on this combo and had no problems. The EVA grip is awesome and the reel seat fits my hand very well. The construction quality of the rod is top notch! Can't find a better for the money, which was $32. I WILL be buying more Abu rods, very impressive. PICS! |

The quality available in the value market these days really is amazing. It truly is a gilded age for the monkey.

I agree with WTL. That is one sweet looking setup. I don't think I have ever put together a sweeter looking combo for under a hundred. Congratulations.
ps: looks like someone was able to pull off the full EVA foam handle look without making the rod look cheap-o.

Wow, that's a pretty nice looking combo man, the red and orange high lights on reel go perfectly with the rod! I also really like the feel of the knobs and handle of the Exceler, just from hold them in stores. Hope you like it!

I've got that reel in that gear ratio. I've been really happy with mine. It performs better than the price suggests and I payed full price for mine. Mine did start out a little rough, not so much rough but not buttery smooth. It smoothed out after a good bearing flush and re-lube and some time on the water. I think you will be very happy with yours.
I agree with the others that the rod doesn't look bad at all with the full eva grip. I think the trim pieces make all the difference in the world. Nice combo and great price! |

Glad to see you like that Vengeance rod, I got 2 of them in Jan., but have not been able to try them out (hard water). I stuck a catalyst PT on one and a Advantage HSTA on the other. The catalyst orange looks like it was made for that rod.

lol Just sold the Exceler to a friend with a old rod to make room for the new Revo SX/ Vendetta combo. Good reel but I think I deserve the new Revo SX lol.
My Energy PT is going on the Vengeance now ![]() |
