James, let me be frank with you. What you might get out of a reel like that (worth maybe $10) on a site like this probably won't cover the shipping costs. I'm just telling you not to hold your breath.

Thats what i've been wanting to do with my old poles. I seen a kid the other day at the peninsula fishing with a stick and line tied to to end, I felt bad for him because you could tell his parents didnt have much money, I wish I would of had one of my many old push button type style rods with me.

James, Welcome to the forum it is a great place.

Also, no one was saying anything negative about you or your gear. There are several veteran members of this forum who fish with inexpensive gear, myself included.

They were trying to save you the trouble of shipping something for 6 or 7 bucks that you were only gonna get 10 for...
