Jalapeno peppers stuffed with CHEDDAR, lightly breaded and deep fried. In a lure it would be a Lucky Craft G-SPLASH. Last edited by bassboogieman; 09-23-11 at 08:57 PM. |

I've had good luck with Iovino's Splash-Its and Xcalibur Zell Pops, as well as H20 Poppers. I also have a couple of Yellow Magics and River2Sea Bubble Poppers that I haven't really gotten to use much yet but have high hopes for.

I don't own a Gunfish but I assumed it was a walking bait that also happened to spit and pop.

My bad. Sorry. I was in Pompano Beach, Fl. this morning. Got up at 05:00 to pack, breakfast and get to the airport. Bad rainstorm comming home from Baltimore, very slow up I-95. Long day and brain was not fully engaged - remember the Abused Beaver has been on my mind the last few days. So 14 hours later I read this post and responded with Gunfish - NO NO ON, should have said the G-SPLASH. L/C makes so many models, my mind was just playing dumb, not fully engaged. Sorry for the confusion, the Gunfish is a totally different lure and one I don't own.

My favorite to date would be a Pop R or a Chug bug. However the more I use my Yellow Magics the more I am liking them.

Discontinued Berkley Frenzy popper... LC Gunfish is a far better walking bait than a popper. oe |

Xcaliber Zell Pop by a mile. I've got one of the smaller ones with almost no paint left on it. The chug bug and skitter pop are a distant 2nd and 3rd.

I have two poppers I really like that I've used for a couple years now. My favorite is the Xcaliber 3" Zell Pop. The other is the Lucky Craft T-Splash. The T-Splash is similar to the G-Splash with one difference being that both hooks have the feathered treble instead of just the tail hook. I have it in the MS Black color and the bass really tear it up. There are some other great looking poppers I'd love to try, but these two work so well I'm in no hurry to run out and buy the others.

These are the only poppers to through IMO. I've tried several, and these just have the right everything. The spit/sputter and "glupe" these have is second to none.

Yellow Magic, is about the most perfectly tuned popper I have ever used. I love those things!

I eyeball them every time I look at poppers online or at BPS, I just haven't been able to bring myself to shell out $22 when you can get Iovino's and Yellow Magics for $13-$16. One of these days though...
