Seasonal Bass Fishing

Whats your favorite technique for each season ? Where do you find the most catchable bass during that time ? Example , deep ledge fishing with a deep diving crankbait...lets hear what you guys do.

spring:
Lipless cranks burned around developing grass beds.

Summer:
Spro poppin frog through the mats.

Fall:
Dont have one.... yet!

More and more, i have found that when i think of a bait or a technique as being best suited to a certain season, i end up limiting myself and now i try to give everything a fair shake in any season. Most would say that deep crank baits are a mid summer bait. This last few weeks we found that they were the best option to catch fish in 50 degree water at this lake. If you couldn't bang bottom you couldn't catch a fish.

Frog at least 6 months a year,while boat may be in deeper water at times im fishing shallow,can tie boat to stump get out and walk to lunch.

I used to have solid answers, but my arsinal of lures has expanded for each season. But here is a quick summery. It varies depending on the lake I'm fishing.
Early spring-Jerk baits, chatterbaits, lipless cranks, jigs.
Late Spring-Spinnerbaits, shallow crankbaits, jigs, t rigged lizard, various topwater, hollow body 5" swimbaits.
Summer-spinnerbaits, poppers and spooks, buzz baits, crankbaits, frogs and t rigged beavers.
Fall-spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, crankbaits, Spooks, jigs.

Fishing is so popular now that I think you just can’t always go with the norm. Sure spring is going to bring the girls up and there will be patterns for both pre and post spawn and summer will bring deep and ledge fishing but don’t limit yourself. I caught a 9.15 fishing a ledge with a crankbait in 14ft of water at the begging of spring. Most guys were looking for them to be staging for the flats

Does any body use plastic worms? That's what I mostly use all year round besides crankbait and spinner baits

I use finesse worms on my shakeyheads and 10" worms nightfishing during the summer and sometimes for fishing deep water during the summer. I'll also use a 7" ribbontail with a light weight in ponds with lots of vegetation on the bottom.

I worm fish from spawn to fall. Weighted and not, wacky or even carolina rigged. (although rare) and usually 5". Spring fall will dropshot more with finesse worms. No matter time of year I always have one pole worm rigged.
Before spawn, jerkbaits.
After spawn one pole will have top water. Love hollow frogs and a big believer in Ribbits. Like poppers especially when school feeding is taking place. But I'll throw spooks and such.
Third will be jig setup. Bouncing, crawling, swimming, some jig set up. Prefer 1/4 oz or even finesse jigs.
Newest addition, using jig for weight on dropshot rig. Don't know when it's going to shine most but it's done well this fall when water cooled.
This is shore busting so different than a boat arsenal.
