Picked up another E7 tonight for 100 bucks, this sonofagun looks like it's never even been fished. It's not the mysterious E5 I've been hunting down, but this one will work for swimming jigs
Not looking to get into the swim jig business type of fishing anytime soon, but I couldn't pass up the price especially for the condition the reel is in. It should come in handy next spring though...I'm currently the high bigger on a BPS Pro Qualifier (5.2:1) on eBay that will hopefully suit my deep cranking needs until I find this mysterious E5 I've been hunting for! |

Awesome find, I'm sure you will find a use for another E7!
If nothing else, it sounds like you could flip it for a nice profit. Good luck on the PQ, they are really nice reels.

Thanks Joe! You and few others on here are the reason I started looking at the PQ. I was so disappointed with the last BPS reel I had that I wrote all BPS reels off completely. So if I win it and it doesn't work out I'm blaming you all
Kidding of course! From the way you all have talked about them and the reviews they have on the BPS sight, sounds like a heck of a reel. I was tempted to order me a Lew's from TW today since they have started their Labor Day sale already, but came across the Curado. |

Dang Mule when was that thing built? I've never seen anything like it!
I put my max bid at what I'm willing to pay and leave it at that, if I get outbid then it wasn't for me. I was bidding on two and fortunately I was outbid on one of them. I wasn't paying attention and bid on a LH retrieve reel. I will hunt and hunt and hunt for something until I find it for a price that I'm willing to pay. I also never buy anything from in-state on eBay so I don't have to pay taxes on it unless that price is set to where with taxes included it doesn't exceed what I'm willing to pay. |

I remember those because they came out to complement the 1310mg which was a solid reel back in the day. If you ever see a post from Zooker, you will see them lined up on the deck of his boat. I traded him one like that in the hi-speed version a couple of years ago and he sent me the best crankbait I have ever fished with. Sorry for the hijack.

Im old enough have a few reels I bet that are older than you are and still work.
Johnson model 10-40,lews BB1 and BB1N,5000 c did have a pristine 4600 but a kid needed it worse than me,or thought he did. Owned both the lews tad over 30 years still work,bb1 is starting to get sloppy, used fairly heavily as fish and boat with 100 + hrs a year on an outboard. So a 15 -20 year old design havnt a problem with,if it works as intended.Im sorta ol fashioned prefer simple and good working not expensive and purty.Didnt mind the citica and curado yet gave them away as well to a friend in need. Could do without a few high dollar diawas as can cast farther with a 5000c Gsplash or gunfish-good 60-70 yards, with a glass 7 ft seeker rod. Age has little to do with a good design even if somewhat beyond the times and how something works. I have a 12 ga double barrel made in 1863 london england,wm moore and company while percussion cap, blackpowder and shot, still blows a nice pattern.Just dont hunt much no more but keep it on hand in case any revenuers show up. Hey Shane, just so you know, Winch's are on sale this weekend for $135 at TW. If your PQ's don't pan out, you might consider that.
You're welcome monkey

![]() I seen that and it is sitting in the back of my mind. I had the Lew's TP1S in my cart then deleted it. Put the winch in there then deleted it. So far I'm having a string of bad luck on the PQ's I've been bidding on. There is a PQ X-Crankbait on there with a buy it now. The only problem with that is, either I didn't look hard enough on the BPS site or they're not on there and I have never heard of it. Do you know of it? |

I saw the X-Crankbait too, I have never heard of that reel before. If I remember correctly, it didn't have the dual braking but it did have more bearings. I do know that not all BPS reels are created equal. I would personally stick with a known commodity but you might shoot ProReel a pm if you are interested in that reel. He will answer any questions you might have and he would probably be the guy who might know that reel.

I bid on one the other day, the price was to low not to, but again never hearing of it I set my max bid and let it be...I lost it, but not heart broke about it. I'm not particularly interested in it was more curious about it than anything. I'll keep watching for PQ's to pop up and continue my quest for an E5 to pop up or jump on a winch. I'm not opposed to Abu's just never thrown one...Hell I may be missing out, I could get one, love it and swap all my reels to Abu's. In my dreams anyways...the wife would shoot me

I just thought of something else, you could probably score some E5 gears very easily and probably pretty cheaply. You could turn your E7 into an E5.

Shane, you should talk to Kevin (Pro Reel) I would bet he can get you a set of 5.1:1 gears for that Curado for a little of nothing. It is a very easy thing to swap them out.
