				 | Who's Done for the Year and Who's still fishing?

I know many guys switch gears from fishing to hunting this time of year. I figure we have about 6 weeks left of decent fishing left and plan to keep at it..but wondered...who has already 'hung it up for the year" |

I fish till november, and then most of the reservoirs dont freeze around here, so i fish jigs really slow on heavy spinning tackle, and about feb, or march they start to come back in, so i start throwing cranks and spinners again. Thats how i do it.

Quit fishing! Are you insane I will fish all year, and never through the ice. I either go without ice no matter what the temp is as long as it's thin enough to break though. Or go south, or will go to a powerplant lake, but I will be fishing all year. No one who's sane could ever give it up in my book And if I had to go through the ice then I guess I'd be ice fishing Lizards

I'm still fishing, but it's getting close. I do a lot of shore fishing and it gets incredibly difficult around this time in the waters available to me. My partner and I will go out on his little boat some more if the weather cooperates. I have sensitive fingers and they get cold pretty easily. So no fishing when it's cool and windy like I know a lot of guys can do. To get out on a boat for a few hours, I need at least about 50°, or warmer if it's windy. The season officially ends on November 30, except for seven or eight of the Finger Lakes.

I got those neoprine gloves for cold weather fishing, they kinda make your hands sweat if its over 50 out, but are water proof and help when it seems warm enough to fish but the eyelets on the rod freeze up ever 20 minutes or so, its no big deal.. we tend to hit crappie and bluegills late in the season, so the bass that are caught are a added bonus..

When I ain't fishin', I'm thinking about fishing. Yes fishing I know its difficult to believe. I am not sure I believe it myself.I hate the winter, its the start of the good food again, my stomache gets used to all sorts of junk food while fishing season is in full swing, real food is treated like an outside foreigner for a while , you got to throw in something really weird to throw it off balance like a toasted peanut butter & jelly sandwhich with horseradish on it. Its not nearly as bad as it sounds. P N J |

Real fisherman? When deer season is open than that is what I do. When Hunting season is over, then I fish. Fishing is relaxing to me and hunting is hard core! I am a real fisherman. But I am a real hunter too.
