				 | red eye lm

First I would like to say hello to everyone, this being my first post. I have enjoyed reading some of the different posts and have used the info I learned here to catch more bass! With that said, about a month ago i caught a LM out of a small pond in IL. This fish had red eyes. This is the only bass I have ever caught with red eyes. Has anyone seen this before? What is going on here lol??? Thanks folks

it could be a fish out of a stream. Like smallmouths when they get angry, their eye has a red ring around the black center..my guess is someone stocked the pond or lake with some stream bass..heres the bass I won the tournie with, although you can't see the redness in its eyes |

I managed to catch a minnow one time using a 6" hard jerk bait, although I think it was when I was ripping it through some grass the hook impaled it just right.

Thanks skeeter, I am pretty sure it was a LM but could have been a spotted. Redeye bass are also know as rock bass (I think) and if so would have been much to small to be what I caught.....an 18incher
