Yeah, so what's your favorite lure to use during the hottest time of the year?

Depends on the situation, but lately I've been throwing a topwater, a spinnerbait, and a stickbait like a Yum Dinger.

My favorite is the propbait. It might not be the most productive, but man if it isn't fun and gets some great strikes. It the type of fishing God made summer for, a lot of work, but a big reward if you stick with it.

This is my favorite time of year to fish.I love fishing jigs in weedbeds and in Shady spots along the shoreline. Here Willow trees extended out above the water can provide you with a limit of fish without much effort. P N J

Very early in the morning I prefer to start with a top water near shallow cover. I soon switch to a 3/8 oz tandom spinner and shallow crank bait untill the sun gets above the trees. Then I usually end up working the deeper edges of weedbeds with a deep crank. Also, I will probe the pads with a black and blue jig and craw trailer
