Water- stained, some areas of clear water 3-4 foot vis
Temp- 90+ outside, 83-85 water
Don't fish here a lot but figured what the heck. Stick Marsh was windy and my little boat doesn't handle that well. Started out OK, lots and lots of vegetation. In fact there are whole canals choked up w/ it. Like Lizard stated in another thread, miles and miles of vegetation don't always mean miles and miles of fish. Pulled a few 1-2 pounders out of various canals only to be turned around because of impassable walls of crap. Finally head out towards the pit. Windy, lots of vegetation. Pulled a few more small ones from the weed lines. Did I mention the vegetation, cleaned my prop at least 30 times, not to mention the salad in my TM just as many. There are fish, they are elusive and slow to bite. Most fish were caught w/ white spinnerbait or watermelon tiki stik. Fished slow and real slow. Over all nice day to be fishing, just real slow this time of year w/ the heat. Talked to a handful of guys at the ramp, pretty much repeated what I just typed. No bigguns, but they are here. Garcia is a nice change of pace from the Stick Marsh when the winds are blowing. Hoping Sept. will start picking things up.
