Burn it to the edge of the cover I am fishing ,kill it for a second and bring her in UNLESS I have to slow roll the bait along the deeper ledges. Yes its boring and a little work and slow but can produce big results.

JB, Gold is a great spinnerbait skirt especially in the Fall, but most of all, I fish it nearly year round and here's what I found, the fish here in this gin clear water want the gold skirt waters warm or cold. I will update you next year on fishing gold shad skirted jigs, I am liking the red shad color I had, but will be willing to give any color a whirl at least once.P N J

Funny you should mention gold as a spinnerbait skirt PNJ. I got one cause believe it or not the wife told me she thought it would catch me some fish. It is gold with silver flaked strands running through it. Of course its a wareagle spinnerbait. Caught a few fish on it but nothing to brag about. You say it works well in the fall for you. Are u fishing it around strcture of fishing it around balls of shad??

I was just fishing a tourney with a guy who actually pumped the spinnerbait out of the water like the shad jumping, and then fluttered back down some then pump it up again, to break the surface. It looked like a "great technique" even though he didn't catch any, I still believe it would work great.

i've tried that a few times Lizards..never caught anything on it, either..but it seems like an effective technique.
I'll be another that can attest to the fact that gold colored skirts WILL catch fish. I fished one in stained/murky water and had pretty good success with it(IMO) even on a tough fishing day. My skirt is gold/black/clear and I recommend it for everyone to try if they can. |

Well some guy at a nearby store, Gander Mountain, Convinced me to buy a terminator with white/yellow skirts. He urged me to use the yellow skirt so i tried it with a rather fast retrieve right under the surface and pulled out a could bass. I also like using a bobber with my spinnerbaits...lol jk

I prefer slow rolling most of the time while fishing drop offs and humps, cast and let it hit bottom, slowly start reeling just turning the blades, give it two little quick pumps then let it flutter back to the bottom and repeat.
