New section of Potomac River shut down!!!

US Marine Corp base at Quantico VA will be shutting down fishing in a large section of the Potomac River coming up in March. Section of the river starts just south of the Marina down past Chop. Island and past the mouth of Chop Creek. Boats must remain out of the marked area and the area will be patrolled by the Marines.
We don't know if the ramp on Chop Creek will be open or if you will be able to fish back in the creek.

For those of you who have never fished this area it is the section of Quantico where the Presidential and State Department helicopters are kept. There is also a small runway in which small transport planes land and take off.

It's also a great spring time spot to load the boat !!!! This absolutely sucks!!! Chop creek has been one area that I've done well fishing the spring and fall. I've caught many 10-15lb limits in this section of the river.
